Some years ago, there existed a sweet young married couple. That couple was beloved by the world. By all accounts, life was very good, and easy. The world and all its pleasures were theirs in abundance, and the world loved them as their own.  

As they entered their late 20's, still in the midst of an attractive and depraved lifestyle, one day, a beautiful nail-pierced King, named Jesus Christ, began to woo them away from this sinful world, and all it offered.  

This man and woman were swept off their gilded feet by His ever present, majestic, and incomparable love. They soon discovered there was nothing like His Presence, and in 2018, this happy couple fell in love with Jesus. There was nothing left to do but leave the temporary distractions of this world far behind; denying themselves daily, taking up their cross, and following this glorious bridegroom King named Jesus of Nazareth. It’s only The Holy Spirit that can take someone and really do anything with them, and so He did.  

With Heavenly love in their eyes and the Presence of God filling their new and yielded hearts, an epic quest began. They desired nothing more than to be with Him, be like Him, and love Him with all their heart, soul, and strength. A noble venture this is, but one that is easier said than done, and which takes time – much time.  

In this case, for our highlighted couple, time has proven to be increasingly beneficial.  

Identities as a son and daughter of their Father in Heaven have been received and cemented.   

A relationship with The Holy Spirit has been conceived, and blossoms to this day.  

Jesus Christ stayed not only Savior, but became Lord of all, and their ardent and burning love for Him remains like a wildfire within.  

In this necessary hiding, God would become very real to them, and they have given Him the depths of their heart. In losing so much, they’ve gained so much more.  

Their past is gone, and they, being dead to it, have been made brand new.   

Truly, they recognize that their Maker is their Husband. They exchanged a worldly reality for a heavenly one; that without Jesus, they can do nothing.

It is no matter that some may deem them theologically untrained and uneducated. Why? Because they have been with Jesus, and can only speak of that (and Whom) which they have seen and heard.  

Much more could be said, but when Jesus became real to them, everything changed.  One cannot fix their gaze upon the King of Glory and remain the same. The word of God and His manifest presence is their daily manna. Streams of Living water, like a torrent, flow throughout the caverns of their heart. 

Through the process of time, countless holy, biblical, authentic, and life altering encounters have led to this point.  

We are Amanda and Jason. We have been with Jesus. We know Him and He knows us. We are His, and He calls us His friend.  

A few years back, while in prayer, this was spoken to us, and we found it to be a deep and sacred truth. The Holy Spirit advised us lovingly with this, “When Jesus becomes your primary interest, you will no longer have a secondary one.”  

So, what about Hem Chasers?  

His great love is what drives us to walk out faithfully, this ministry. We joyfully get to steward it for Jesus. Daily, many will experience the fruit of it, grown over years in the secret place of prayer and fellowship with God. We’re not looking to forge some trendy ministry or build something by man’s design. We merely desire to love people like Jesus, everywhere we go, and show them they can do the same. His love is what accelerates the heart in such a way, that carrying His burning heart within sets the world ablaze and turns it upside down.  

We honor the men and women of God that came before us. They trailblazed for the Kingdom of Heaven, sacrificing so much. Since the 1770’s, thousands have laid down an incredibly strong spiritual foundation here. 

Because of the richly Christian past, the present and future are bright in our region of East Tennessee. God is already on the move in many lovely and precious ways. Annually, this will only increase in potency.  

Families, neighborhoods, communities, schools, churches, cities, and countless individuals will be awakened, renewed,  and transformed. This geographic area will thrive with Jesus and for Jesus.  

We are both greatly humbled and thrilled that God has called us to this area of America, and that He has invited us to be a small part of the great work He is doing here.
